About Me

Welcome to my humble little blog!  This is where I come to post
photos and random musings about my three favorite things:  My family, my
photography and my newly-revived hobby of knitting & crocheting.  I
can't always guarantee that
I'll update daily--or even weekly--but I do try!

I graduated from Millersville University in Millersville, PA in 1997 and married my "college sweetheart" Corey in 1999.  Our first son, Trevor, was born in 2000 and our second son, Aaron soon followed in 2002.

I've been employed full-time since 1999 by the transportation sector of Applied Research Associates.  In a nutshell, my office collects & analyzes highway, street and runway surface data for a wide range of
clients including states, municipalities & military.

Since 2007 I've
been self-employed part-time as a child & family lifestyle
photographer, although I've been on hiatus for a little over a year
now.  I'm still in limbo over taking paid sessions again this year, since it's quite difficult to keep up with the process while working a full-time
day job and taking care of (and being with) my family.  Come what may, however, photography will always be a big part of my daily existence!

As for the recent resurgence of my long-lost hobby of knitting & crocheting:  I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact that I'm on a computer 24/7 either at work or at home editing photos (or Facebooking or what-have-you!)  Combine that with my love for creating and it's the perfect second hobby for me.  I've known how to crochet since my grandmother taught me in grade school, and I eventually taught myself basic knitting in college.  I'm currently learning some more advanced knitting techniques, like cables (wish me luck!)

I hope you enjoy your visit here, and please leave a comment to let me know you dropped by!  I would love to visit your blog, too! ;)

Finally Posting More Alaska Photos! :-P

Hey!  I guess there’s nothing like a new blog to motivate me to post some Alaska photos!  After all, I’ve got to keep up with my reputation of not posting photos until a few weeks (or even months) have passed by since they were taken, right?!?  :-)

(Let’s hope that this nifty new blog will help remedy that bad habit a bit!)

One thing that really surprised me about Alaska was the bright green grass and colorful flowers everywhere.  Granted…it was August…but I still didn’t expect such color.  The images of Alaska we are accustomed to seeing tend to focus on the snow-covered landscape that is typical throughout much of the year.  The lush greenery of summer in Alaska, however, is something we are seldom exposed to.  There’s not much else I can say to describe just how colorful it really is, so I will just let the photos to do the talking for me!

Welcome to my New and Improved Photo Blog!

***This post will remain stuck at the top of this page for the next week or two, so please scroll down for newer posts***

After many late nights and lots of headaches (next time I think I’m paying someone to do this!) I finally have a brand-new, custom blog running off my own server!  What this means is I can do pretty much what I want with it instead of being stuck with the limited design and functionality of the standard blog services.  I think what I love most is being able to post really huge photos!  This now makes me want to post daily!  Okay… that may be stretching things a bit, but I certainly hope to be posting more frequently than what I ever had before!  I absolutely can’t wait to start posting sneak peeks of my upcoming spring photo sessions!  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your visit!
